Aside from regular analgesics, anti-inflammatory drugs and anti-rheumatics are often prescribed. These include such substances as aspirin, ibuprofen or cortisone. Analgesics are always prescribed by the attending physician.
Cartilage-building drugs
Although there is a wide range of such products, scientific evidence of their effectiveness has so far not been forthcoming; they cannot prevent the loss of cartilage.
