Partial knee joint replacement
The partial prosthesis is also referred to as sled prosthesis or unicondylar knee replacement.
This implant is used to replace the inner or outer part of the knee joint. It is selected if joint wear (osteoarthritis) affects exclusively one half of the joint surface. Additionally, other conditions such as absence of pronounced knock knees or bow legs, obesity etc. must be met to ensure successful implantation. The healthy parts of the joint are permanently retained.
