Treatment options

As already mentioned, osteoarthritis cannot yet be cured. Once it has reached a certain stage, only the removal of the cause makes sense.

However, there are a number of methods to slow down the progression of the disease and to treat osteoarthritis.

Implantation of an artificial joint is the last resort – before surgery is considered, conservative treatment methods are applied in order to alleviate pain.
